Lodges

We have 44 authentic yet stylish lodges to relax in exceptional comfort after a day spent enjoying all that Bergendal has to offer. The lodges are either in front of the mountain or right by the water on the riverbank. Those with a panoramic view are positioned along the footpath to the mountain from where you can see much of the resort. In addition to the natural landscape of the rainforest on one side, on the other you have the unique panorama over the  resort and the river.

Those with a river view are superbly placed, right by the water. With plenty of windows and the extensive open terrace, guests can enjoy undisturbed nature from the comfort and privacy of their own lodge. The majestic river and its lush banks unfold before you.

All lodges are  comfortably equipped with stylish furniture including folding beds. They also come with canopy bed, airconditioning, hot and cold water, a desk, individual terrace, safe and telephone.

Facilities

All our facilities are tastefully designed to reflect the “Amazonian Caribbean” ambience. From our spacious lobby to the atmospheric restaurant, the characterful bar, the infinity pool, the lovely Chillout Lounge and the unusual Wellness facility on the pier, all contribute to the overall atmosphere of the resort.

THE KISKADEE RESTAURANT

Informal and full of light, the restaurant is alongside the river with impressive views of the rainforest. The constantly-changing daily lunch menu and dinner buffet bring you the best of traditional Surinamese cuisine, with the emphasis on fresh local produce, from fruit, vegetables and herbs to fish and meat, with a la carte options.

THE PIRANHA BAR

Set alongside the restaurant on the water’s edge, you can enjoy your favourite drinks while taking in the fabulous scenery of the river and jungle. There is also an open-air terrace. This is the hub of the resort, where you can enjoy a pre-dinner drink or just get together with friends.

Ask for one of our special cocktails such as Sibi Busy or Honey I’m Home, and enjoy a variety of snacks.

WELLNESS

Via a footbridge by the bar you can reach the pier above the river, where our Wellness facility is situated. On the lovely sun deck you can enjoy a massage, body wrap, facial and other treatments. Try the hot stone massage or the wonderful choco body wrap. And afterwards you can simply relax on the terrace, sunbathing, or having a nice nap. Later on this is a good place to look at the moon and stars.

POOL

In our pool area you can laze for hours in the sun or under a parasol, taking in the spectacular views. There is a shallow section for children and you can get drinks and snacks from the Wtaradagu pool bar

CONFERENCE HALL

The special atmosphere of the resort provides an inspiring venue for  team-building and motivation. Use it for a conference or a banquet for anything from five to 150 people. It’s fully equipped and our staff are on hand to provide all your requirements.

BERGENDAL HERITAGE VILLAGE AND ADVENTURE CENTER
