Danpaati

From 2014 Access Suriname Travel is the proud owner of Danpaati River Lodge. A beautiful lodge on an island in the Upper Suriname River and winner of the Luxury Retreat of the year in 2015 and the Zoover award in 2014. In the surrounding villages the Saramaccan tribes still live there according to ancient African traditions. The wooden cabins are built in traditional Saramaccan style and comfortably furnished. There is a swimming pool and a terrace above the river to relax.

Sustainable and culturally responsible

 Together with our team at Danpaati River Lodge we have developed several social cultural projects that contribute to the development of the local population, such as the establishment of a media library for children, a literacy project and developing awareness around waste.

Frederiksdorp

Plantation Resort Frederiksdorp is the center of the right bank of the Commewijne River, an area of approximately 30 km wide and 11 km deep that extends from the Atlantic Beach of Braamspunt all the way to the Warappa Creek. This UNESCO World Heritage, is a well preserved historical connection from the 18th century. The historical buildings of the former coffee- and cocoa plantation are furnished as  comfortable tourist apartments with air conditioning, Wi-Fi, hot water, a swimming pool with a spacious pool deck and a large terrace with views of the Commewijne River. There are many ways to explore the surrounding flora, fauna, culture and history. By boat, by foot or by bike.  By combining your stay at Plantation Frederiksdorp with a Danpaati River Lodge tour, you will experience the plantation culture, Maroon history and contemporary, maintained, African traditions.

Mi Gudu

Access Suriname Travel is the proud owner of Mi Gudu River Cruiser, a 28 meter motor yacht, which can accommodate up to 75 guests for day charters. She accommodates up to 12 guests in 6 double cabins (each with air conditioning, shower and toilet)  for a comfortable cruise experience. The salon aboard the Mi Gudu is the ideal location for a meeting, a product presentation, a brainstorming session, cultural highlight or birthday.

River cruiser Mi Gudu is equipped with a modern, professionally equipped kitchen that meets all modern requirements. A buffet may be offered in the salon for larger parties or it can be served at the table for smaller groups. You can also join one of our regular cruises, such as the Sunday Sunset Cruise or the Plantation Tour.
